Good news. The comments are back this week. And they’re all completely positive.

And remember, all scores are pending the actual wickedness of the wind this weekend. Every game could end up 8-6. In overtime.

Last week: 64-23 (75.3%)
Season: 336-95 (78.0%)

RODFRISCO.COM TOP TEN

CLASS AAAA
No. 1 Pittsburgh Central Catholic 24, HM Gateway 14 (Gateway much improved since season-opening beatdown by McDevitt, but not enough to beat Vikings)

No. 2 La Salle College 38, Father Judge 7 (Judge pretty stout, but can’t hang with defending state champions)

No. 3 Ridley 33, Marple-Newtown 0 (Ridley smothers Marple’s chug-along offense)

No. 4 North Allegheny 41, Pine-Richland 7 (I wish Pine-Richland was back in AAA. I’ll bet it does, too.)

No. 5 North Penn 35, Quakertown 13 (The Q hasn’t played that poorly against decent schedule – save for that WTF 28-point loss to Downingtown West – but North Penn’s in a different league.)

No. 6 North Hills 28, HM McDowell 20 (This game lost a little shine when McDowell lost on highly controversial 2-point play in OT, but it’s still a rock ’em, sock ’em game.)

No. 7 Cumberland Valley 44, Central Dauphin East 12 (CV makes second straight trip to CD’s George “Speed” Ebersole Stadium. East is vastly improved and certainly remembers last year’s 73-12 whuppin’. But it’s just not in CV’s class.)

No. 8 Council Rock South 21, Neshaminy 20 (The top Class AAAA game in the state this weekend is the most important game in South’s fairly brief history.)

No. 10 Central Dauphin 45, Harrisburg 32 (Expect the new scoreboard at Ebersole Stadium to get a thorough workout on Saturday night.)

CLASS AAA
No. 1 Allentown Central Catholic 28, Parkland 17 (This could be a dangerous spot for the Vikings,)

No. 2 Archbishop Wood 34, Archbishop Ryan 14 (Improved Ryan still walking in Wood’s shadow.)

No. 3 Cardinal O’Hara 27, Monsignor Bonner 14 (Lions are playing a strong brand of football right now.)

No. 4 Abington Heights 39, Scranton Prep 6 (Heights survive scare, gets back to blowout ways.)

No. 5 Thomas Jefferson 34, Washington Trinity 7 (Trinity is 4-2, but has had trouble scoring against good defenses. TJ has a good defense.)

No. 6 Montour 16, HM Blackhawk 14 (A bloody battle, this one.)

No. 7 West Allegheny 27, New Castle 13 (A trap game; West Allegheny has Montour next week, and New Castle isn’t bad.)

No. 8 Dallas 33, Crestwood 14 (Mounties keep climbing toward likely unbeaten season.)

No. 9 Greencastle-Antrim 55, James Buchanan 0 (This is really no way to treat your neighbor.)

No. 10 Lampeter-Strasburg 34, Garden Spot 12 (Unless L-S heads are still in the Manheim Central clouds.)

CLASS AA
No. 1 Lancaster Catholic 48, Northern Lebanon 6 (No idea if the Crusaders would be good hurdlers because they never have to leap any.)

No. 2 Greensburg Central Catholic 42, Mohawk 0 (Poor Mohawk. GCC is the second of three straight unbeaten teams it will face.)

No. 3 Aliquippa 20, HM Beaver Area 14 (Isn’t Beaver County football wonderful?)

No. 4 North Schuylkill 21, HM Mount Carmel 20 (No, that’s not thunder you hear in Fountain Springs. It’s this game.)

No. 5 West Catholic 53, Conwell-Egan 6 (Those close games C-E has played the last two weeks? That comes to an end.)

No. 6 South Fayette 31, South Allegheny 6 (Lions exhale after huge win over Keystone Oaks last week.)

No. 7 Forest Hills 35, Penn Cambria 7 (Yes, Penn Cambria is 5-1. No, it won’t be close.)

No. 8 Northern Lehigh 27, Northwestern Lehigh 13 (NL passes test against rival.)

No. 9 Lewisburg 28, Warrior Run 8 (Green Dragons on a serious roll now.)

No. 10 Littlestown 54, York Tech 12 (York Tech’s best team in years and it runs into this bunch. Just not fair.)

CLASS A
No. 1 Clairton 42, Brentwood 0 (I promised never to use military analogies while writing about high school sports, but it’s getting tougher to avoid with Clairton. Seriously, I’m trying.)

No. 2 Rochester 34, Cornell 13 (Unbeaten Cornell hasn’t played a team with a winning record all year. It shows this weekend.)

No. 3 Southern Columbia 28, AA HM Danville 24 (OK, what would you rather do? Spend $5 for this game? Or $67 for that slop up at Penn State?)

No. 4 Riverside 48, Honesdale 6 (Not much of a match here.)

No. 5 Farrell 34, West Middlesex 8 (Steelers have been very impressive to date.)

No. 6 Dunmore 19, Lakeland 14 (Time for Bucks to re-tighten those chin straps.)

No. 7 Sharpsville 46, Mercer 8 (Normally a decent battle, but battles have been few and far between for Sharpsville this year.)

No. 8 Mercyhurst Prep 58, Cochranton 0 (Man, Prep had better play someone decent soon. Oh, wait … unbeaten Saegertown next week? Cool.)

No. 9 Sto-Rox 34, Western Beaver 16 (Vikings get a “B+” for last week’s win over South Side. Sorry, couldn’t help myself.)

No. 10 Bellwood-Antis 43, Glendale 13 (Blue Devils are carrying a stick these days. Don’t know about talking softly, though.)

6-0 vs. 6-0
