Penn State adds some recruits
. From Guy Cipriano of the State College Centre Daily Times.

Softball
Just a notebook item from the Erie Times-News, but cool just the same. A 54-inning shutout streak is impressive.

Baseball
Nice feech on Neumann-Goretti’s Mark Donato in which he admits to trying to break windows while hitting balls off a batting tee. From Ted Silary of the Philadelphia Daily News.

Track and field
Sure, it’s a league meet and not districts or states. But when have you ever heard of six throwers from the same school qualifying in the same event? I’m not sure even the Glen Mills boys throwers from the ’90s did that. From Jeff Reinhart of the Lancaster Newspapers.

Two District 3 newspapers give their takes on the proposed new District 3 power rating system that rodfrisco.com has detailed here. The Lancaster Sunday News story by Mike Gross is here and the Harrisburg Patriot-News story by Andrew Shay is here.

Good notebook from Mike White of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. This time, we’ll get Jake Sunday’s name right (we called him Justin earlier this week). But the craziest note is the one about the Louisiana golfer at the end.
